That is our main question as well as our main problem. We, nowadays children, are driven away from open playgrounds into indoor play centers that you create for us, or left in front of TV and video games.Instead of forcing us to participate in those activities, be sure that we could benefit much more from exploring our natural needs in natural environment.
Where could we play?
Every time we enter a playground we fear the fact that each year approximately 211000 of us (preschool and elementary children) are being received in emergency department care for injuries that occurred on playground equipment. The most prevalent diagnoses were: fractures, lacerations, contusions/abrasions, strains/sprains, and internal injuries.
Is it safe for us to play here?
We love to compete, run, laugh, explore, use our imagination and develop our creativity and we do it best in open playgrounds. Why is the number of interesting, accessible and safe open playgrounds with various entertainment equipment decreasing every day and who is responsible for that?
Why cant we play?
Playground designers are reducing the number of moving parts in equipment, such as swings, merry- go-rounds and rocking horses, plus its quite difficult for us to play with existing boring, even dirty, broken equipment, and rare or no maintenance of it.
